The Indian Captain Odi Rohit Sharma performed an intensive fitness program with former assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in Mumbai and deprived 10 kilograms in preparing to return to the international cricket. Nayar emphasized the transformation on Instagram and published a photo of Sharm’s gym with a headline: “10,000 grams later, we are still pushing.”
Rohit also shares images from his training sessions in Mumbai, re -joined forces with Nayar in leadership to return to a one -day international.
Its preparations come in the middle of speculation about its future in the format. The Board of Trustees in India (BCCI) indicated that Sharma and Virt Kohli will not be taken at the Futures ODI Sharma and Virt Kohli, focusing on the T20 World Cup at the beginning of 2026.
Rohit did not move with external noise and concentrated on the re -conditions of the peak after enjoying a three -month break. Meanwhile, Kohli started his own training block in London.
Rohit, who left the test cricket in the middle of the IPL 2025 season, has not become a competitive match since June. After finishing his Stint with the Indians in Mumbai in IPL, he took time away from the game, spent time with his family and took part in the Indian final test against England in the oval.
Despite the limited practice of the match, its renewed commitment to fitness is considered the key to its ODI comeback against Australia in October. After working with Nayar several times in the past, Rohit turned again to his trusted partner for technical improvement and physical condition. Nayar, which was part of the behind -the -scenes staff of the senior national team until February Champions Trophy, played a key role in shaping Rohit development at different stages of his career.
With India planned to play 27 ODI and the Asia Cup in 2027 before the next World ODI Cup, Sharma’s Form and Fitness will be under control. The BCCi and selectors are expected to encourage Sharma and Kohl to participate in domestic competitions such as Vijay Hazare Trophy to ensure sufficient conformity practice.
Both older players initially expected to appear for India and in three matches of one -day series against Australia and, starting on 30 September in Kanpuru. However, neither of them was included in the team, which will instead be led by Tilak Varma and Rajat Patidar.
