Rohit Sharma revealed that India wanted to knock Australia from the World Cup T20 2024 as revenge for the loss of the ODI World Cup final. India was Aussies in the finals in the finals of November 19, 2023 because Australia won its 6th World Championship ODI.
Aussies won the match with 6 goals and defeated India, which was undefeated during the tournament. This left bad taste in the mouth of Indian players and fans who were eager to see the team win the cup at home.

India faced Australia in her final match Super 8 to book her place in the T20 World Cup semifinals. Aussies must win a match to stay in rivalry, saying that they got to Final Four when they suffered a shock defeat in Afghanistan. Loss in India, however, meant it was Afghanistan and Rohit and his men who went through and aussies were sent a package.
Rohit, who played with the bat and scored 92, revealed an interview with the dressing rooms among the players. Former Captain T20i said that Australia destroyed 19 November and players wanted to give Australia a “gift”.
Rohit said that players knew that if they beat Australia, Aussies would be removed from the tournament.
“Australia destroyed our and the whole country on November 19 in the ODI toilet final, so we should also give them a gift. These kinds were talked about in the dressing room. We had it in our minds that if we win this match, Australia will be the T20 World Championship,” Rohit said in an interview with Star Sports.
The victory against Australia acted as a catalyst for Indian momentum when they went all the way and in the finals requested the title of the World Cup T20 by defeating South Africa.
