Sunil Gavascar said that if Rohit Sharma remains about his availability for the World Cup 2027, then he should expect his journey to come more bad news. Rohit has been removed as the ODI team captain 4th October as SHUBMAN GILL took over the reins from the party.
Soon after the announcement, it was revealed that Rohit is not currently insignificant about his participation in the 2027 World Championship. When he spoke to sports, Gavascar said that the former captain is currently playing only one format and little ODI is played.
“Of course. If you (Rohit Sharma) are not insignificant if you can’t say whether you are ready for the next two years, be prepared (for more bad news). Even if they are aware that if they have to play ODI, they rarely say.
“We do not know whether to Rohit ready for the World Championship in 2027. ODIS is only playing now, and if we see an international calendar, the Indian team does not play too much. Bilateral tours usually include tests and T20 is that it is preparation, it is not certain that it is taken in the frame.
“Young captain had to be ready”
Gavascar said that Rohit did a lot as the captain of the Indian team, but it was time for India to move on and go for a younger captain.
“He personally did a lot – he won the Champions trophy and the World Cup T20 before. There are no two ways about his captain. But he (Rohit Sharma) agrees with this decision, because if you need to think about two years ahead, then a young captain must be prepared.
Rohit will start his new chapter as a normal player 19th October when India faces Australia.
