
Sanjay Manjrekar made a bold claim that Rohit Sharma’s Days as an open -out in a test cricket ended after a 38 -year -old man announced his departure from the longest format of the game. Rohit announced his retirement from a test cricket via the Instagram story May 7 and said he would continue to represent India in ODIS.
The future of Rohit in the tests was in doubt before the English tour after a bad trip in the Border-Gavascar trophy, where he mostly fired on site 6. When Manjrekar took X, he pointed out that Rohit scored only 164 runs in his last 15 shifts, 10 of which were at home against Bangladesh and New Zealand.
The former cricket said that with Rohit’s current level of fitness, his days were numbered as an opener.

Rohit’s number as an opener
After the start of his career in the middle order, Rohit moved to the opening point and made it his own. 38-year-old scored 2697 runs out of 68 shifts and scored 9 hundreds and 1980s as an opener. In two matches against Bangladesh last year Rohit managed only 42 runs on average 10.5. In three tests against New Zealand, Rohit scored 91 runs from 6 shifts on average 15.16.
Rohit’s bad form was exhibited during the Border-Gavascar trophy, when he managed to score only 36 shifts and resigned from the side for the last match of the series. Rohit expressed his interest in being part of England Tour, but reports indicate that BCCi looked at other possibilities, which could have caused his retirement.
