India’s star batsman Rohit Sharma takes a brilliant catch at first slip during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttarakhand on Friday, December 26 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. A large crowd that had gathered to watch Rohit bat was left disappointed after the star batsman was dismissed for a golden duck.
After being dismissed cheaply, Rohit brought the crowd to the edge of their seats with a brilliant catch at first slip. During the third over, he managed an outside edge off the bat of Kamal Singh to help Mumbai get the first breakthrough. Once Rohit took a catch off the bowling of Shardul Thakur, the noise level in the stadium skyrocketed and the crowd went berserk.
Formerly, Rohit Sharma fell in his second Vijay Hazare Trophy match of the season for a golden duck. Rohit was dismissed in the very first batter faced by 25-year-old fast bowler Devendra Singh Bora when he attempted his signature pull shot at the short ball.
According to reports, a large section of fans started leaving the stadium immediately after Rohit’s dismissal. The atmosphere at the venue died down as soon as he was caught at deep square leg to dismiss the Mumbai skipper.

Several supporters were also seen calling for a no-ball and urging the umpires to offer Rohit a reprieve so they could continue watching the premiership batsman in their hometown.
Meanwhile, after Rohit’s dismissal, Mumbai flexed their batting muscles and posted a mammoth total of 331/7 in their allotted 50 overs. After openers Rohit and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (11 off 20) were dismissed cheaply, brothers Sarfaraz Khan (55) and Musheer Khan (55) stitched together a sizeable 107-run stand for the third wicket from 90 balls.
Later, Hardik Tamore (93* off 82) and Shams Mulani (48 off 35) took their team’s score past the 330-run mark. Devendra Singh Bora (3/74) emerged as the pick of the bowlers for Uttarakhand with an impressive three-wicket haul.
