Real Madrid Forward Rodrygo Goes has opened in a difficult personal period that influenced it at the end of the 2024-25 season. The Brazilian wing admitted that his absence of the team was not caused by injury or illness, as originally designed, but stems from personal struggles that weighed heavily.
Rodrygo sincerely spoke in an interview with Dario As and thought about the difficulties he faced during this period. He explained that he had been walking for a long time without talking to anyone about what he was going through and fought physically and mentally. Despite his willingness to play anywhere coach Xabi Alonso seemed fit, it was difficult for him to regain his usual form and focus.
“The truth is that I had a very difficult time on a personal level … I went for a long time without talking to someone. No one knew what I was going through. It was very difficult. I wasn’t well, physically and mentally.
Gratefulness to Carlo Anecelotti
In the middle of these struggles Rodrygo expressed immense gratitude towards former coach Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti and attributed to him that he helped him navigate in a difficult period. He described how Ancelotti favored his well -being, and ensured that he recovered as a man than to expect a show on the pitch.
“Coach Ancelotti helped me get through all of it … He saw every day that I wasn’t right, that I wasn’t eligible to play, I couldn’t help the team. He knew he had to restore a person in front of the player. It was important to be in my mind. It was very difficult in my life, but now I overcome everything.
Rodrygo also thanked Ancelotti’s son David, Real Madrid’s coaching staff and his family for his support during this demanding phase.
“Whenever I can, thank Carl, his son David and coaching staff. Everyone helped me and of course my family. Now I feel nothing but joy, I’m happy and very motivated for a great season,” he added.
Since Ancelotti left Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo had seen regular minutes under a new manager and played in eight of Madrid this season this season. He admitted that the difficult charm changed him, in the field and beyond.
“It is true that I am a completely different person now,” he said. “I come up with different thinking, different enthusiasm and greater maturity. I feel great and I’m sure this season will be better for everyone, for the team and for me,” he said.
Looking forward, Rodrygo eager to have an impact with the Brazilian national team, after he was on October 10 and 14.
Once the club football returns, Rodrygo and Real Madrid are in hectic run. October 20 will face Getafe in Lalize 20 October, followed by a decisive clash of the Champions League against Juventus 23 October. Both accessories will be a key tuning before the first El Clasico in the 26th October, where Rodrygo has already called for Los Blancos after the last season.
