If everything goes well, robots soon detect errors in the underground drainage system in Belagavi and repair them.
Mayor of Mangesh Pawar, Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi and Head of the Society of Belagavi City Corporation were witnessed by a demonstration of robots on Friday.
Mr. Pawar said he was satisfied with the demonstration. “The final decision on entering machine systems will be taken after discussion with officers and members of the corporation,” he said.
Mrs. Joshi claimed that the decision would be taken on the basis of the results of necessity and performance.
The demonstration took place near Hanuman Nagar.
He was present by the leader of the City Corporation Hanumant Kongali, a deputy Commissioner in the corporation Laxmi Nippanikar and others.
Technical experts from the company described in detail the functionality, efficiency and technological features of the machine. They said the City Corporation of Sangli in the neighboring Mahari is already employing them.
They said that robots enter underground drainage lines and precisely detect problems such as blockages, leaks and water contamination with cameras and sensors. They provide live visual effects from the inside of the pipeline.
“They have skills to detect problems before the pipeline is damaged,” said Solinas Integrity Representative Mr. Patil.
This machine costs 27 lakh. The company agreed to offer a monthly free training. In addition, for 5.5 GBP, the company will process operation and maintenance for three years on the basis of a service contract, said the mayor.
He explained that the project would not replace civic workers.
Intelligent machines, Solinas integrity systems and endobot sewer robots, were lowered by Swasth AI, start-up incubated IIT Madras.
These robots and the system of machine learning help city local body officials to check leaks in sewers, water pipes and even pollution when supplying water.
