Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has directed officials to carry out road construction in three shifts, including night shifts, after the monsoon to ensure timely completion.

He asked the chief engineers to deploy experienced field engineers for each package and hold them accountable for meeting project deadlines. The minister reviewed infrastructure projects across the state, including construction of highways, new High Court complex, Osmania General Hospital and several health facilities.

He said work on 10 road packages would begin during July as part of the first phase of the state’s HAM road programme. The phase envisages upgradation of 6,092 km of roads in 34 packages at an estimated cost of about ₹13,000 crore. He directed the officials to speed up the work on the 42 km long Nalgonda-Mahabubnagar dual carriageway project, which is being done under Package 2 at an estimated cost of ₹ 155 crore.

Mr. Venkat Reddy announced that the foundation stones of HAM and Central Road Fund (CRF) projects in Karimnagar district will be laid on July 6 in the presence of district ministers and local public representatives.

Reviewing the construction of the new High Court Complex and Judges’ Residential Quarters at Rajendranagar, the Minister directed officials to expedite the work and ensure that the project is ready for inauguration by December 2027. Officials informed the meeting that about 16% of the work has been completed so far.

The Minister further directed the officials to speed up the work in the new building of Osmania General Hospital, Sanathnagar TIMS, Alwal TIMS, LB Nagar TIMS, NIMS Extension and Warangal Multi-Superspecialty Hospital so that they can be opened to the public as soon as possible.

He also warned that he would start surprise inspections of construction sites from this week and that any negligence in the implementation of the project would require strict disciplinary action. He reviewed the progress of development work on the Basar and Bhadrachalam temple projects and reviewed the preparations of the R&B department for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu.
