Game changer for Konkan residents
The service is welcome as the fastest RO-RO trars in South Asia and is the main initiative of the Government of Maharaštra to improve the intercity of travel comfort.
According to the Minister of Rybolov and the Minister of Nitesh Rane, the project received the project of all 147 necessary permits and was implemented with first -class security standards, Hindustan Times informed.
This service is part of the State Government’s vision to increase connectivity between cities and to provide relief to all people traveling at their native points during the highest festive periods.
Built on the success of the Mumbai-Ribaug route
The new Mumbai-Konkan route builds on the success of the existing RO-RO ferry service between Mumbai and Mandwa (Alibaug).
Mumbai-Alibaug, which lasts for about an hour, has made a popular coastal city more accessible to tourists and residents by eliminating a long journey, which usually lasts three hours.
This new service is only part of a wider network. Minister Nitesh Rane called it the beginning of building something bigger, with plans to add more stops such as Shivardhan and Mandwa in the near future. The long -term vision is to further expand the service and provide direct ferry connections up to Goa, said Hindustan Times.
