“In moments like these, it is essential that the government will take the nation and its chosen representatives for full confidence. Transparent dialogue and open involvement across political lines strengthen people’s trust in a democratic institution and strengthen the collective determination needed to overcome adversity,” he said.

Special session, said Mr. Jha, would send a powerful and reassuring message that our democracy remains resistant. “I ask you to convene a special meeting of parliament, devote solely an open and principled discussion of the attack of Pahalgam and its wider consequences for the safety, well -being and aspiration of the Indian people,” he wrote.
