Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq grilled for 4 hours in probe by Pakistan’s Cyber Crime Squad
Pakistan’s cricket woes have deepened further, with senior players Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq reportedly being questioned by Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore as part of an investigation into alleged dressing room leaks during the ongoing Test series against England.
According to PTI, the two players were grilled for nearly four hours after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) filed a complaint with the cyber agency. The exact nature of the alleged leaks remains unclear, with the NCCIA not yet releasing details of its investigation.
The development comes in the middle of a big one disciplinary upheaval in Pakistan cricket. After the Lord’s test, seven players, including Rizwan and Imam, were sent back from England along with two members of support staff due to reported disciplinary issues.

The Pakistani team’s security manager reportedly handed over the phones of Rizwan and the imam to the NCCIA as part of the investigation. According to sources quoted by PTI, both the players have indicated that they are willing to allow forensic examination of their devices.
Two senior players also requested additional time to submit their written responses to the NCCIA’s questions. One of them was reportedly interrogated for several hours, while the other was given until next week to answer a questionnaire handed to him.
A PCB spokesman confirmed the NCCIA was conducting an investigation into the alleged locker room leaks, but declined to comment further, citing the ongoing nature of the process.
The case is particularly significant as it is said to be the first time that the PCB has filed a complaint with the cyber agency against a player from the national team.
The development also comes with an unusual political dimension. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also Pakistan’s interior minister, while the NCCIA operates under his ministry.
The PCB has already announced an internal disciplinary inquiry following media reports regarding team discipline and conduct.
PAKISTAN’S POINTS CONTINUE
The off-field controversy unfolded against the backdrop of Pakistan’s disastrous Test tour of England. After losing the first Test by an innings and 103 runs, Pakistan were beaten by 194 runs at Lord’s.
The extensive changes made by the PCB did little to improve the results. Pakistan were bowled out in the second session on the opening day of the Lord’s Test before England posted 453 runs.
Rizwan has also struggled with the bat recently, while Imam has been involved in an injury-related controversy after suffering a Grade 1 tear in his left calf. His decision to face multiple knockdowns despite appearing to be physically struggling reportedly raised questions from the PCB.
The NCCIA investigation now adds another layer to the crisis, with Pakistan cricket facing serious questions on and off the field.
