Rinku Singh is all set to rejoin the Indian squad ahead of the clash against Zimbabwe, the Indian batting coach confirmed during a press conference in Chennai on Wednesday, February 25. Rinku is expected to be back with the team on Wednesday night ahead of Thursday’s Super 8 match in Chepauk.
Rinku Singh temporarily left the team camp to attend to a family emergency. India Today has learned that his father Khanchand Singh was in a critical condition and was admitted to a hospital in Greater Noida. The southpaw traveled to Chennai with the team on Monday, February 23, after India’s Super 8 match. However, sources told India Today that the left-hander flew back early Tuesday morning after learning that his father had been placed on ventilator support.
“Rinku Singh is coming back tonight. His father was not well. He is back. Hopefully he will join us today,” Kotak told a press conference.
