Shiv Sena (UBT) staff allegedly fired the drivers of the Auto-Rikes in the Palghar district in Maharashtra above the “anti-marathi” notes. A video of the incident has recently become viral on social media, which further stimulated the controversy of language issues in the state.
While the Mint could not verify the authenticity of the video, the police said they had seen it on Sunday, but it has not yet received any formal complaint. Therefore, no case has been registered from now on, PTI news agency reported.
What exactly happened?
The Auto-Riksa driver, a migrant residing in the Virar area in Palghar, allegedly made derogatory remarks against the language of Marathi, Maharashtra and Marathi icons, PTI reported.
His video allegedly appeared on social media earlier, attracted to sharp reactions online to local political groups.
In the new alleged video of the confrontation, which took place on Saturday, the auto-rikša driver is seen that a group of Shiv Sena (UBT) workers, including women, is reportedly slapped.
The incident occurred on a busy road near Virar Station.
The Auto-Riksh driver is then forced to publicly apologize to the man and his sister, with whom he allegedly did not behave earlier, as well as the state to “offend” and his language and cultural heritage.
“TRUE SHIV SHIV Style”
According to the PTI Message, local official UDDHAV Thackery-cuddled shiv hay (UBT) claimed that the driver of the Auto-Rikes was learning the lesson.
Reportedly, he claimed that anyone who offended the language of marathi and the state will receive an answer in the “real style of Shiv hay”.
The head of Shiv Sena (UBT) Vira City Uday Jadhav, who was present at the crime scene, justified the action and said, “If someone dares offend Marathi’s language, Maharashtra or Marathi, he gets the answer in the real style of Shiv hay.
He said, “The driver had the courage to speak sick of Mahari and Marathi Manoos. He was taught him a unclear lesson. We forced him to apologize to the people of the state and those who offended.”
No complaint yet
The senior police officer confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday, but said that a formal complaint has not yet been filed.
“We have seen a viral video and verify the facts, but no complaint has been received from one side,” the clerk said.
Linguistic war
Previously, in the middle of the language discussion, the employees of Raj Thackery led by Mahashtra Navnirman hay (MNS) reportedly slapped the owner of food stalls in Bhayander in the neighboring Thane 1.
Traders from the area later organized a protest against him.
8 July led the MNS and other groups of the protest march in the Mira Bhayandar area to prevent the marathi “Asmita” (Pride) and to face the agitation of traders.
The march witnessed the detention of several activists by the police with the leaders and the staff of the opposition of Shiv hay (UBT) and NCP (SP) also joined the protest.
