
An amount of Rs 62.50 lakh was paid to recently surrendered 27 Maoist cadres as reward in Bhadradri Kothagud district.
Superintendent of Police B. Rohit Raju handed over the checks to the surrendered cadres of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Kothagudem on Thursday, police said.
Additional SP (Operations) G. Narender and others were present.
Among those who received the checks are two DVCMs, 11 ACMs and 14 platoon members of the Prohibited Section.
According to the police, the reward money was paid to them in haste as part of the state government’s policy to rehabilitate surrendered Maoists.
