‘Revive’ was launched to improve the academic standards of students
The government aims to ensure that children do not struggle in studies, General Education Minister N. Samsudheen said. The government is determined to bring all children into mainstream education and equip them with life skills, he added. He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Revive – Navajeevanam’ program being implemented by the General Education Department through Samagra Shiksha Keralam at St. Mary’s High School here on Tuesday. Revive focuses on solving the problems faced by lower and upper primary students in Malayalam, English and Mathematics. It will identify areas in which students are lagging behind, introduce effective teaching activities, analyze study results and constantly improve pedagogical practice, the minister said.
Revive, one of 16 programs planned by the Department of General Education under the government’s 100-day programme, will also help provide opportunities for students to further their studies and careers. The meeting was presided over by Health Minister K. Muraleedharan. Samagra Shiksha Keralam State Project Director K. Mohanakumar was present.
