Governor Bihar and Chancellor Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday (June 18, 2025) chaired the audit meeting with Vice -Presidents of State University in Raj Bhavan and published a number of instructions aimed at strengthening higher education in the state.
At the meeting, Mr. Khan ordered the creation of a committee composed of all vice -chairmen who would submit detailed proposals for the problems facing their relevant institutions, along with the proposed solutions. He would say that it would help gain comprehensive understanding of problems and allow an effective solution.

Vice -Presidents were also instructed to send a consolidated props concerning the lack of pedagogical staff to facilitate the appointment of a visiting faculty according to institutional requirements.
The presentation of the advisor of the Ministry of Education emphasized the current status of the university environment Bihar. There were also discussions on the implementation of the Samarth portal – a digital framework focused on streamlining administrative and academic functions in higher education institutions. It has been informed that trained IT employees will be deployed across universities to support the system.
Governor emphasized strict adherence to the investigation calendar and monitoring of participation in higher education and postgraduate programs.
Mr. Khan, accompanied by Minister of Education Sunil Kumar and head of the Ministry of Education, ordered the vice -chairman to clean the university hostels of students who illegally live or any anti -social elements, with the help of police and district administration, wherever necessary.
“The character of children cannot only be built with books. Teachers are the largest patterns for children for children, so they have to write an example through their lives, character and behavior. University and universities are Saraswati temples and their sacredness should be maintained,” Khan said.
He added: “The post of vice -chairman is very dignified and are responsible for building the future.”
Mr. Khan also urged the vice -chairmen to collectively strive to improve the educational environment in Bihar. Among the higher officials were another main secretary of the Ministry of Education S. Siddharth, Chief Secretary of Governor Robert L. Chongthho and Minister of Education Ajay Yadav.
Previously, Mr. Khan, together with the main Minister Nitish Kumar and the Deputy Minister of Samrat Choudhary for the construction of Rajendra Bhawan, the Secretariat of the Governor and the innkeeper of Raj Bhavan, laid down.
