Revanth reviews the distribution of uniforms, a must for government school students

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during a review meeting on the distribution of uniforms and educational supplies to students in government educational institutions on Saturday.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday directed officials to formulate a preliminary action plan to ensure that school uniforms and other essentials are distributed to students on the very first day of the next academic year.

Reviewing the distribution of uniforms and educational needs to students in government educational institutions, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for better planning in view of the likely increase in the number of students. He expected a 10% increase in the number of students in government schools and instructed the authorities to take appropriate measures to meet the additional demand.

Mr. Reddy noted that parents have expressed satisfaction with the quality of uniforms and other materials supplied this year. But he urged officials to make the uniforms attractive by exploring a range of color combinations and designs before finalizing them for the next academic year. During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the distribution of one set of uniforms to students in government schools, hostels and boarding schools has been completed. The second set should be distributed by the end of September. They added that students studying in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) and model schools have already received both sets of uniforms.

Officials also informed the chief minister about the supply of laptops, saying that distribution to all students has been completed. The meeting reviewed the status of distribution of other essential items including plates, glasses, bowls, spoons, cups, carpets, sheets and towels to students in government hostels, residential schools, KGBV and model schools.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the State Government P. Sudarshan Reddy, MP Vem Narender Reddy, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister K. Sridhar Rao, OSD Vemula Srinivasulu and senior officials from various departments.
