Main Minister A. Revanth Reddy received relief from the Supreme Court in the matter of defamation of the BJP for his alleged slanderous comments against the Union Minister AMIT Shah during the election campaign Lok Sabha in 2024.
Judge K. Lakshman from the High Court in Telangana granted a temporary stay until 23 June in criminal proceedings against him. The case was filed by claiming that Mr. Reddy had damaged the reputation of Mr Shaha by claiming that BJP would cancel the reservation if he voted on power in Telangana.
Mr. Reddy apparently referred to the transformed video of the Minister of the Interior and exposed it to support his “damage to BJP image” among people. The case of defamation was filed on the basis of a complaint by the Secretary General of BJP Kasamo Venkateshwar and the ongoing court.
The main minister then moved the High Court and tried to cancel the case and remain in the proceedings. The High Court has already given him an exception to his personal withdrawal before the court court. The case will be reviewed after 23 June.
