Appealing to the voters of Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency to elect Congress candidate Navin Yadav, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asserted that voter turnout was not about sentiment but about the future and development of Hyderabad.
At the corner meetings in Jubilee Hills constituency, the Chief Minister urged the voters not to miss the opportunity to ensure the victory of the Congress candidate as Mr. Naveen Yadav will be their vote in the Assembly.
Recalling past political developments, he accused BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao of starting an “unholy tradition” of fighting even against the families of deceased leaders.
“When P. Janardhan Reddy died in 2007, rival parties like BJP and TDP wanted to have his family elected unanimously out of respect. But it was KCR who fielded a TRS candidate against them. Such people are now looking for sympathy votes,” he said.
The Chief Minister mocked both the BRS and the BJP for what he described as the “Fevicol bond” and alleged that both parties were working together to stop Hyderabad’s progress. He also alleged that Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy is blocking metro expansion and Musi river development projects simply because he is afraid that the Congress and Revanth Reddy will get the credit,” he said.
Mr. Reddy asked what the two BJP union ministers had done for Telangana. “Instead of talking about carpet bombing in Jubilee Hills, they should explain what funds Modi provided? What projects BJP MPs brought?” he asked.
He said the BRS was provoking the auto drivers as they were not able to spend free RTC bus travel for women. Referring to the recent campaign of BRS working president KT Rama Rao, he said, “They are roaming around in cars for photos, but they are the same people who ignored auto drivers for 10 years.”
The Chief Minister warned voters that if the BRS returns to power, it will stop free bus travel, 200 units of free power and ration cards and end the supply of subsidized fine rice to the poor. Mr Reddy also defended former cricketer and minister Mohammad Azharuddin and asked why the BJP was so envious.
