BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, saying he behaved more like a real estate agent than a CM.
At Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, KTR alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy had orchestrated another massive scam under the guise of HILTP. He expressed anger that land originally allotted to industrialists at low rates by the government to create jobs is now being converted for real estate purposes.
He alleged that the CM was giving permission to construct flats and villas on these industrial plots at very low prices. “He is selling nearly 9,300 acres of land to private individuals, effectively mortgaging public property worth ₹5 crore in favor of 500-600 people,” KTR alleged. He demanded the immediate withdrawal of this policy, which alienates public land from private entities.
KTR also criticized the Congress for promising 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BC) and reneging on it. “While the previous government gave 24% reservation, the current Congress government has reduced it to just 17%,” he said. He called on the BC community to teach Congress a lesson for bringing up drama on reservations.
He cited the example of NTR’s legendary loss in Kalwakurthy to emphasize that victory and defeat are natural in politics. He pointed out that Kalwakurthy has the highest number of agricultural pump sets in the state and recalled how the BRS government had ensured 24-hour power supply by setting up substations and transformers. He noted that power cuts and farmers’ struggles had returned under the Congress government, making people remember the KCR government.
