The main minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday (April 22, 2025) urged protesting teachers to return to work, and assured them that its government would protect their salaries.
Thousands of teachers whose appointment was canceled after the Supreme Court’s judgment continued on Tuesday, April 22, at the headquarters of the West Bengal (WBSSC) in Salt Lake in Salt Lake.
“You don’t have to worry about who is tainted and who is not. You just have to worry about whether you have your work and whether you receive your salaries in time. The list to identify the tainted and tireless teachers remains with the government and the courts.”
“We assure that your work is safe for now and get your salaries. Please return to your schools and continuing their courses. I have talked about it several times since last night. We are with you,” Mrs. Banerjee said on the MidnaPore administrative program.
CM said that a proposal for reviews for Group C and Group D employees who lost their jobs would also be filed before the Supreme Court and “they have kept faith in us before”.
Mrs. Banerjee added that she would visit the problem areas of Murshidabad in the first week of May.
