This year’s exams on the West Bengal Class 12 board passed a total of 4 30 286 students, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. According to President Chiranijib Bhattachary of the West Bengal Council for higher education, 90.79 % of 4,82,948 candidates cleaned the exam, which took place from 3 to 18 March. Of the successful candidates, 92.3 % are boys and 88.1 % of girls, he added.
The Purba Medinipur district recorded the highest percentage of passage to 95.74 %, followed by North 24 Parganas and Kolkata. Among the successful candidates 45.38 percent scored above 60 percent, while 16.99 % gained 75 percent and higher.
A total of 72 candidates were listed in the TOP 10 holder. Rupayan Pal of Burdwan CMS High School in Purba Bardhaman reached the list and gained 99.4%. He was followed by Tushar Debath of Baksirhat High School, Coch Behar, Rajarshi Adhikari of Aambagag High School, Hooghly and Srijita Ghoshal of Sonamukhi Girls’ High School. Is the first among girls’ students.
Bhattacharya said that 143 students with special needs appeared for the exam, with a percentage of 51.75 passages. He said it was the last test within the annual system since 1978. “Since 2026, HS tests will take place in February and September,” he said, adding that the fourth semester rehearsals will take place from 12 to 27 February.
