Former DMK minister TM Anbarasan on Monday (July 6, 2026) warned that the party would launch a protest if the state government failed to restore a plaque at the Nemmeli desalination plant bearing former chief minister MK Stalin’s name.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Anbarasan claimed that the plate was covered with a cloth before Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay visited the factory for an inspection.
“When we asked the officials, they said the board was damaged and it will be restored within a week. If it is not restored, the DMK will stage a protest,” he said.
Mr. Anbarasan alleged that ever since the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) came to power, the government has been trying to erase or suppress the achievements and social initiatives of the previous DMK regime. He said such acts are condemnable.
