
Legal problems were knocked down by a two-star Michelin restaurant in the capital of South Korea-Soul, for administration of an ants decorated with food. This means an example of when dining is contrary to the laws of the country. The High-End Found Dining Restaurant has served ants in their selected dishes in the last four years, but recently got under fire.
According to government instructions, ten types of insects, with the exception of ants, are allowed for use in food preparation. The list includes, grasshoppers, dining worms and silk navel, including Korea Times.
In this case, the owner of the Michelin Star restaurant and the corporate entity were handed over to prosecutors, the Ministry of Food and Drugs revealed 10 July.
Because ants are not on the list, their use means violation of the right under current food safety regulations. Thus, the Hygiene Hygiene Act in South Korea prohibits food sales or additives that do not meet the standards. Violars may face punishment up to £31.1 Lakh (50 million won) or imprisonment for up to five years.
It is located in the Gangnam district, with a top restaurant with good food, it has gained traction after its signed offers became a viral on social media. Sherbet’s bowl, which became the most popular delicacy, has become the most popular delicacy.
The restaurant used ants from the US and Thailand and decorated its meals with three to five ants on a plate. Between April 2021 to January 2025, the restaurant reportedly sold plates containing three to five ants in each portion. The bowl generated sales worth £74.7 Lakh (120 million won), which corresponds to an estimated 12,000 portions during this period.
The restaurant, however, claimed that they do not know that ants are a limited component and even on television introduced food based on ants without hiding.
