Researchers have obtained a patent for an automatic homeopathic medicine dispenser
A research team from Kerala has received an Indian patent for an automated system designed to improve the efficiency of drug preparation and dispensing in homeopathic pharmacies, clinics and pharmacies.
The invention introduces automation into the process of dispensing homeopathic medicines. The aim of the system is to reduce manual interventions and improve the accuracy, consistency and efficiency of dispensing operations. This effort was called ‘Digitally Controlled Sliding and Sealing Mechanism for Automated Dispensing’.
The team consists of MV Rajesh, Director, Institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD); Safad Ismail, Assistant Professor in the Department of Cyber Security at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS); Harsha Vasudevan Pillai of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kurnool; Mohammed Iqbal R., Managing Director, Yes Sky Enterprises and Mobi Mathew, Assistant Professor, Nehru College of Engineering and Research, Thrissur.
The research team focuses on developing practical and cost-effective technology solutions for healthcare using new technologies, including artificial intelligence, chip-level integration, embedded systems, optical sensing and intelligent automation.
According to the researchers, the innovation also highlights the potential for integrating digital technologies into the AYUSH healthcare sector, including homeopathy. They added that this development could pave the way for more intelligent, connected and digitally enabled healthcare systems, while also opening up further opportunities for automating drug dispensing.
