The union labor ministry has issued an advisory to all states and union territories and their affiliated organizations urging immediate “preventive and mitigating measures” to protect workers and laborers from the adverse effects of heat wave conditions across the country.
In a communication to chief secretaries and administrators, the ministry said there is a need for a coordinated, multi-sectoral and multi-dimensional approach to protect workers, especially those employed in outdoor and labour-intensive sectors.
