Representatives of the textile industry and trade bodies meet Chief Minister MK Stalin

Representatives of various textile industry bodies and Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangangalin Peramaippu called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat in Chennai on Friday.

The official statement said representatives of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, Synthetic and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council, Powerloom Export Development and Promotion Council, South India Mills Association; South India Textile Research Association; CII Tamil Nadu Textile Panel; Tiruppur Exporters Association; The Karur Textile Manufacturers Exporters Association and others challenged Mr. Stalin.

They thanked him for the various announcements made at the recently held textile conference at the CODISSIA trade fair complex in Coimbatore. These announcements included a 20% capital investment subsidy for textile companies to purchase modern weaving and knitting machines with an annual allocation of ₹30 million and an extension of the 6% interest subsidy scheme for the purchase of priming and finishing machines.

Separately, representatives of Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangangalin Peramaippu, led by its state president AM Vikramaraja, also called on Mr. Stalin and thanked him for extending the time limit for free registration of social council members for traders and for issuing orders reducing the rents of HR&CE department properties.
