About 1.38 Lakh Pattas was published by people in Chennai and his peripheral areas who had not previously had them, said the representative of the main Minister Tamil Nadhayanidhi Stalin on Tuesday (13 May 2025).
When he spoke in a government office in Kathivakkam, where he distributed Pattas about 1,500 people, the representative of the main minister said that Pattas had been spread over 2,100 people in the Truvottyur election district since September last year.
He also pointed out that more than 400 people who were assigned land in exchange for their land for the North Chennai thermal power plant did not receive Pattas for several years. “The main minister (MK Stalin) instructed them to get Pattas. After 35 years, Pattas got today.”
Mr. Udhayanidhi, who underlined the importance of Pattas for land, said many housing lands in Chennai, which were distributed in the 70s and 80s, did not have Pattas. “There were many technical problems. We have solved them all and now give Pattas.”
The government distributed 1,500 Pattas on Tuesday and added and added: “It would not stop here. Steps will be distributed by about 18,000 other Pattas for people in this area. Our MLA would soon distribute them.”
