Manchester United have reportedly initiated talks with Southampton as they aim to secure the signing of 19-year-old rising star Tyler Dibling this summer.
The England U19 international has had a standout season at St Mary’s, drawing attention with his impressive performances and attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs. West Ham are said to be preparing a bid for the midfielder, while Tottenham are also in the race to sign him. However, reports from GiveMeSport suggest that Manchester United have now entered discussions with Southampton to finalize a deal.
Southampton, under Ruben Amorim, have been closely monitoring Dibling’s progress for months and are reportedly open to negotiations. The teenager is widely expected to leave the club this summer, despite having a contract until 2026. United view him as a valuable addition to their squad, particularly after missing out on Sporting CP’s Geovany Quenda, who is set to join Chelsea.
Dibling has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring four goals, further solidifying his reputation as one of England’s most promising young talents.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing for significant squad changes ahead of the 2024/25 season. Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Aston Villa, and Antony, who joined Real Betis in January, are both unlikely to return to Old Trafford permanently. Rashford’s strong performances earned him a recall to the England squad, while Antony has regained form in Spain. However, United see their departures as key to reshaping the team for the future.
As the Red Devils look to rebuild, securing young talents like Dibling could play a crucial role in their long-term plans.
