The glass bridge connecting the rock monument Vivekananda and the statue of Thirvaluvar in the Sea of Kanniyakumari is stable and the crack developed in the glass bridge will be repaired in two days, according to a press release of the district administration.
It was said that when the supplier’s team carried out painting on the upper part of the bridge on August 16, the hammer unexpectedly fell from the hand of a worker from a height of seven meters, so that the first layer of the glass remained thin scratches.
After this development, the supplier was taken steps to get new glass from Saint Gobain. Glass reached Kanniyakumari 1 September.
Subsequently, steps were taken to create generators to install new glass. The work would be completed in the next two days. Meanwhile, the tourists were allowed to visit and explore the glass bridge as usual, with a release.
