The nature protection architect Abha Narain Lambah called on the Theangana government to revive the proposal for the nomination of the iconic Hyderabad, Qutb Shahi tomb, Golcond and Charminar, UNESCO World Heritage Status.
Mrs. Lambah, who spoke at the 100th annual celebration of Art Deco architecture, which took place in Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad, reminded that nomination was presented in 2010 but did not advance.
“It’s the right time to move the proposal again,” she said from her own experience with the successful UNESCO inscription in Mumbai Victorian Gothic Gothic and art ensembles in 2018. This nomination, which lasted 14 years to take Architecture.
“Mumbai has become a global commercial center and has made an ambitious effort to urban planning that led to these architectural ensembles. Art Deco, which mixes Indian aesthetics with international influences, is a unique cultural expression known as Indo-deco,” she explained.
This event also focused on the fact that Art Deco urban heritage. Srinivas Murty, curator of the event, revealed that from many Art Deco structures in the city was identified by 148 prominent buildings, with the documentation completed for 52 of them.
“We are planning to complete the rest of the rest and in September we will publish a book on Art Deco architecture in Hyderabad,” he said. He also noted that the main house of Raj Bhavan himself is an example of Art Deco design.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who was present at the event, emphasized the importance of maintaining architectural heritage. “Art Deco embodies the emotional language of architecture. As the nation proceeds forward, the protection must become a collective effort, a folk movement.” He also called on other events to raise public awareness of the rich architectural history of the region.
