The State Commission for Human Rights in Kerala (SHRC) ordered City Corporation to move interventions on both sides of the Karaman-Poojappura road in the city within three months.
Commission Chairman Alexander Thomas acted on complaints that on both sides of the caraman-Poojappura was hit as unauthorized commercial activities.
The Commission noted that interventions on roads in the city corporation limits that were an obstacle to pedestrians and vehicles should be removed.
The Commission also ordered the executive engineer of the Public Work Department (PWD) to remove the interventions on the PWD road.
Previously, complainants and accused of intervention will be heard. Inspectorates should also take place.
Minister of Corporation informed the Commission that the interventions fell on both sides of the road from PoojAppura to Kunjalamood. The announcement was issued by 17 facilities to remove interventions and ensure smooth traffic flow.
The complainants, however, claimed that the owners of the facility paid the announcement of the urban corporation, and all interfered with their feet and roads.
