‘Remove evil, crooked politicians’: Iran woos US voters six months ago in 25-page letter – what’s inside | Today’s news

According to Reuters, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a comprehensive open letter to American voters urging them to oppose the policies of US President Donald Trump, Washington’s support for Israel and its involvement in foreign conflicts.

The roughly 25-page letter, released ahead of the US midterm elections, also argued that Iran and the US could seek “peaceful coexistence” if Washington changed its approach to Tehran.

IRGC Urges Americans to Reject “Evil” Politicians

The letter directly addressed the American electorate, calling on them to remove from power the policies he blames for America’s current situation.

“Remove from power the evil, fraudulent and violent politicians who are responsible for the state of America today,” the letter reads, while urging Americans to make sure their elected representatives understand that “the world has changed.”

The IRGC claimed that both Iranian and American citizens suffered because of what it described as corrupt political leadership.

“The peoples of Iran and America are both, in their own way, victims” of “corrupt politicians” in Washington, the paper said, adding: “We share the same pain.

Iran claims that the US and Iran can coexist

The letter presented a peaceful coexistence between Iran and the US as possible if US policy changes.

She accused Trump of misrepresenting Iran’s nuclear program, which Israel sees as a major security threat, and argued that Washington had underestimated the impact of Tehran’s blockade on Gulf oil supplies.

The letter also sought to explain away the “Death to America” slogan associated with Iran’s policy, arguing that it was aimed at the American political establishment rather than the American public.

“‘Death to America’ is a prayer for the eradication of the evil ruling elite whose seat of power is the White House,” the letter reads.

IRGC disputes Trump’s Iran war narrative

IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said the letter was unlikely to change the Trump administration’s approach, but argued that American voters might react differently if they had more information about the conflict.

“The American people are not informed about many events. We believe that if they knew more, they would think differently and make different decisions,” he said.

Trump justified the US war with Iran in part by preventing Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

Mohebbi rejected this rationale, saying Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons.

He also accused Trump of being an “insidious liar” and questioned his motives, citing the remarks as part of the US president’s broader criticism of the IRGC.

Addressing Iran to the American Public

The open letter is part of a broader effort by Iran-linked media and online networks to communicate directly with American audiences.

Since the start of the war on February 28, Iran-linked platforms have reportedly used AI-generated videos, memes and other English-language content to promote Tehran’s narrative of the conflict.
