The State Food Committee ordered the officer Supply Taluk, Kozhikode to include the name of the native Thalakulathur to the navy card issued at her husband, from which she and her two children were excluded without her consciousness two years ago.
The woman and her two children were separated from her husband and the divorce proceedings were when her husband demanded in the petition to the Taluk supplier officer to transfer the ownership of the card to his name. He pointed out that she and her children remain at another address. The petition was considered and the changes were made in February 2023.
The woman submitted her complaint on the website of Civil Supplies Corporation and submitted it to the district supplier and representatives of the collector, but without success. Then she approached the chairman of the State Commission for Food Vasantham Puthussery. After the investigation he found this problem with the decision of the officer Taluk.
Until then, Gina Zakaria Oommen became chairman of the commission. The complainant joined him through lawyer IV Skravana in 2024 in Adalat and replied to which commission came up with the above order.
The oldest woman in the family is the owner of the ration card. Only in the absence of such a woman goes owned to a man. In this case, the transfer of ownership was only possible by removing the names of all three women, one adult and two children.
The Commission noted in its order that life independently from the husband did not constitute a change in the address in the divorce proceedings and therefore the measure was not fulfilled.
The Commission ordered the Commissioners of Civic Supplies to take the department of the department against officials who were to blame in this case. The complainant was also recommended to contact the State Women’s Commission against alleged derogatory notes stated by the inspector of the ration in his file because he did not meet under the guarantee of the State Food Commission.
