
General Minister of Education V. Sivankutty said on Thursday that religious organizations should not “interfere with” unnecessarily in educational matters in the middle of reports that the Association of Sunni scientists plans to protest against a recent revision at school.
At the beginning of the day, which responded to questions from the TV channel, Mr. Sivankutty claimed that the plans of exams or the timing of the school cannot be changed for a specific part of the company.
“Such decisions cannot be made by a democratically elected government,” he added.
The Minister described the requirements for returning the revised timing of the school as “undemocratic” and stated that they were borne by the “intimidation” tone, which represents the government a direct challenge.
“There are many organizations that have aroused similar requirements. If we should all adapt, it would be impossible to operate schools,” Mr. Sivanku said.
“Religious organizations should not unnecessarily interfere with the education sector. Such interventions cannot be accepted under any circumstances,” he said.
He also rejected the need for other discussions on this issue and said that the decision has an impact on the education of 30-35 laches of students and was made in their best interest.
Injunction
Mr. Sivanku explained that another 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon meetings were made in accordance with the court order. He urged those who oppose this step to seek legal benefits.
The Minister reiterated that the school hours were extended – after 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon, except on Friday – after 16 days a month to fulfill the ordered instructing time equivalent to 220 days of teaching, as required according to the national educational calendar and state regulations.
