The Minister for the Anam Ramanarayana Reddy Foundation has described himself as a historical decision to release water for the second crop in the Rabbi season from the Somasil and Kandeler reservoirs.
This step will benefit 5.24 lakh acres of land in the former Nellore and Chittoor districts and become a blessing for many farmers, he said.
The Minister spoke to the media in the program organized on Sunday in his camp office to distribute controls worth 37.25 Lakhy 22 recipients identified in his polling district Actakur within the auxiliary fund of the main minister (CMRF).
He remembered that this was the first time in the history of the state that the water was released for the second crop in this region.
“The release of water to the area outside the Delta has never happened in the past. We have made it possible and do it today because of the abundant flow of water in the Krishna and Pennar basins, which has led to impressive storage levels in Somasile and Kandaler Reserve.
Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy remembered that the highest amount ever released from this was the wet 1.80 lakh acres and irrigated 5.24 lakh acres for the second crop in the past, saying that he referred to his 45 years of political career.
A total of 22 TMC FT water is released to irrigate two acres of lakh under the improved penna delta Ayacut and 16 TMC FT released through four channels to irrigate 1.64 lakh acres. Similarly, 16 TMC FT water is released through Telugu Ganga, which will benefit Venkatagiri, Sullurpet, Gudur (formerly under Nellore and now in the Tirupati district), Srikalahasti and Satyaved Constituration of Tirupati.
The Minister also pointed out that 10 TMC FT water was stored in the Kandaler Reservoir as a reserve to satisfy the needs of the Tirupati and Srikalahasti Temple Cities.
While the previous YSRCP government has completely neglected the irrigation sector, the Alliance regime is trying to revive the same thing, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy said, referring to Mr. Naid’s personal visits in various projects.
