The moment made the latest triumph another proud moment for the team he once represented in the tournament.After the win, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a prize money of Rs 131 crore for the team and support staff. According to a report by news agency PTI, the reward will be distributed among the 15 players, coaching staff and other support members who contributed to the successful campaign. The amount is slightly higher than the Rs 125 crore prize money awarded to the Rohit Sharma-led team after winning the 2024 title.BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia congratulated the team and said, “The board once again congratulates the players, support staff and selectors for this historic achievement and wishes them well in the future.”India sealed the title with a 96-run victory over the New Zealand national cricket team in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
