In finding the regularization of long -term daily wage workers in local authorities and the implementation of EPF deductions from the date of appointment, the Karaikal Unit of the City and the Community of the Association of the Daily Wage of Staff has urged the Puduchherry government to take measures.
The demand was made at a consultation meeting held in the Federation office in Karaikal, chaired Ayyappan, President of the Karaikal Municipal and Communion of the Panchayat employees. Several key resolutions were adopted at the meeting.
The Association called on the Department of Local Administration to regulate the employment of 15 daily workers from TiroLar, Nedungad and Nelava Panchayats, each of which has completed more than 10 years of continuous services. The Federation demanded that all eligible workers be enrolled in the state insurance health system (ESI) and contributions to employees of the Provisional Fund (EPF) from the date of connection.
