Real Madrid Targets Two Premier League Stars Amid Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold Saga
Real Madrid are intensifying their pursuit of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, in a bid to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
Reports suggest that Alexander-Arnold, whose Liverpool contract expires in 2025, has emerged as Real Madrid’s top transfer target. Despite failed attempts to lure him to Spain in January, the La Liga giants are reportedly preparing a lucrative offer, including wages of up to £400,000 per week and a significant signing-on bonus.
Liverpool face a daunting challenge in retaining the 26-year-old right-back, who has been a cornerstone of their first team for nearly a decade. With contract negotiations yet to yield a breakthrough, Alexander-Arnold’s departure could mark the end of an era at Anfield.
However, Madrid’s interest doesn’t stop there. The Spanish club is also eyeing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, a player who is firmly on Liverpool’s radar as they seek to strengthen their left-back position. The 21-year-old Hungarian has been identified as a top target for Liverpool, especially with Andy Robertson’s form declining and Kostas Tsimikas proving to be an unreliable long-term solution.
Interestingly, Madrid have added Kerkez to their summer wishlist as an alternative to AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez. While Hernandez remains a primary target, Manchester City’s interest in the Frenchman has prompted Madrid to explore backup options, with Kerkez now prominently featured on their list.
Real Madrid are keen to reinforce both full-back positions ahead of the new season. Injuries to Dani Carvajal have created concerns on the right, while Ferland Mendy’s inconsistent performances have increased the need for a left-back upgrade.
Initially, Madrid had set their sights on Alphonso Davies, but with the Canadian poised to extend his stay at Bayern Munich, they have redirected their focus to Alexander-Arnold and Kerkez.
As the transfer window approaches, Liverpool may find themselves battling both on and off the pitch to retain key players amidst Real Madrid’s growing ambitions.
