Incorporating more real estate under the tax network in rural areas has led to record income in the last three years, with more than doubled tax collection in this period.
While in the years 2022-2023 a total of 571.94 GBP Crore was selected as a real estate tax, in Just Ending 2024-2025 the financial year fired up to 1,272.43 GBP. In the years 2023-2024, the property was collected in the amount of 767.87 GBP.
“The rural development department and Panchayat Raj control the silent revolution in rural administration. We strengthen Panchayat economies through a record income collection,” said Minister of RDPR Priyank Kharge on the social media platform “X”.
“We have added 13.91,678 real estate to the tax register over the last 18 months and expanded the base of Panchayat assets to 1,43,91,91,438 real estate. And we are just starting.” He said that with courageous reforms on the E-bitha (platform for rural real estate management), the ministry is preparing a ground for even greater income generation and seizes Panchayats to invest better infrastructure, stronger supply of civil services and more responsive local level.
Mr. Kharge said, “We are not just strengthening villages, but also strengthening the engines of another economic jump of Karnataka.”
It should be noted that the state government has taken a one-off measure to provide E-Khatas real estate in unauthorized layouts in rural areas. This is to bring these properties to the property network to increase the sources for Panchayats.
