Congress President YSR (YSRCP) and former CM Yagan Mohan Reddy said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is a reaction to the impact of hikes on tariffs deposited by US President Donald Trump on the Andr Pradesh aquaculture sector. Just writing a letter to the central government would not solve the problem, he said.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the government did not intervene despite the constant drop in prices. The price of 100 shrimp with the number suddenly dropped from 280 to 200–210 GBP, but it seemed that CM was satisfied with writing a letter to the center.
During YSRCP mode, the aquaculture was spread over 4,22 lake acres compared to about 90,000 acres according to the TDP rule. Of the 64,000 electricity connections in the aquaculture industry, 54,000 were provided for 1.50 GBP per unit YSRCP. Their subsidies amounted to 3,640 GBP crore.
Different steps were taken to help Aqua’s farmers to face market whims, said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and demanded Mr. Chandrababa Naid to immediately announce shrimp prices to stop the price crash, and take strict steps against those who looted farmers in the name of American tariffs that were not limited to India.
Minimum support price
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that farmers were cultivated unpeeled, cotton, tobacco, chili, turf, green gram, black gram, banana, tomatoes and many other crops were also deprived of minimal support prices (MSP). The government hit those who questioned its failure, but did not take the necessary measures to improve many harassed farmers, he said.
