Rahul Gandhi said in a post on
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come to the defense of BJP leader and union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, whom Rahul Gandhi called “my treacherous friend”, accusing the Congress of “hatred” against Sikhs. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi also attacked Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and the entire Congress.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi for his “treasonous” remark on Ravneet Bittu, the Prime Minister said, “Shatir dimaag of Congress has called a member of this House a traitor. This is the height of his arrogance. So many factions have split from Congress, so many people have left, he called the MP a traitor because he was in Sikhultrus and showed that there is hatred in Sikhs against Sikhs that Congress has,” PM Modi said.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also hit out at the Prime Minister, claiming that he was “hiding behind” Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and termed claims that there was any plan to harm the Prime Minister as an “absolute lie”.
Her remarks came after Om Birla said in the Lok Sabha that he had asked Prime Minister Modi not to come to the House to deliver his speech after receiving “specific information” that many Congress MPs might perform an “unexpected act” by entering the seat where the Prime Minister is sitting. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “Prime Minister is hiding behind the Speaker. He didn’t have the guts to come to the House yesterday because there were three women standing in front of the bench. What is this nonsense?.. There is no discussion because the government doesn’t want any discussion.”
She also alleged that the central government was forcing Speaker Om Birla to “say all this” as she said the prime minister did not have the courage to come to the House.
“It’s a complete lie. No doubt somebody would raise a hand at the Prime Minister, try to hurt him or something like that… But if you allow your members to quote books, talk nonsense, the opposition benches will protest. I’m sorry, the Prime Minister is hiding behind the speaker. All this makes the speaker say it because he didn’t have the courage in front of his Congress yesterday because these women were nonsense in the House.” said the MP.
