Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) Spin Bowling Coach Malolan Rangarajan rejected criticism over the title drought of franchise and comparison with the English insufficiently powerful male football team. Rangarajan spoke before the last group match of the IPL 2025 RCB against Lucknow Super Giants and insisted that the team’s past did not weigh the current group that he believes is much more balanced and focused than previous lineups.
“England won the FIFA World Cup in 1966, but yes, it is true that we did not win the IPL title,” said Rangarajan. “And we do what we can make sure we become a more consistent and better team. If you look at the last five to six years, RCB has become a more consistent franchise. Whether people say, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but people said our launching and bowling.
