Even as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) announced on March 3 that they will play five league matches at their home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, sources in the committee overseeing the stadium’s readiness told The Hindu that the conduct of the matches is still subject to their “permission”.
A source said the cabinet has given conditional approval to allow Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the stadium. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has to fulfill 17 major proposals made by the expert committee to get the final clearance.
