Ravindra Jadeja spoke about his viral celebration after dismissing Shivam Dube during the IPL 2026 clash between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. In the eighth over of CSK’s innings, Jadeja took the crucial wicket of Dube, who shot through Ravi Bishnoi at long-on and tried to clear the boundary straight down the ground.

After being dismissed, Jadeja raised his left hand and struck a pose as if he was firing a gun, complete with a ‘boom’ gesture from his mouth. Explaining the celebration, Jadeja said he used to do it during his time with the Super Kings and decided to continue it even after joining the Royals.

“I used to do this celebration when I was playing for CSK, so I thought why not continue it here,” Jadeja told JioHotstar.
IT WAS HARD
Jadeja also opened up about her emotional move from Super Kings to Royals. After India’s under-19 World Cup triumph in Kuala Lumpur, Jadeja joined the Royals in 2008 and won the IPL title in his very first season.
He later moved to CSK in 2012 and stayed with the franchise until 2025. Rajasthan brought him back ahead of the 2026 season in a trade deal that saw Sanju Samson move to Chennai.
Jadeja admitted that leaving CSK was emotionally difficult, but said he considered it part of his journey. He added that coming back to Rajasthan was special as it was the franchise where he started his IPL career, won his first title and took on a new challenge.
“Initially it was a bit difficult because I played for CSK for about 12-13 years, so it was naturally an emotional time. But then I thought that’s part of the journey. And the good thing is that I’m coming back to the team with which I won my first IPL title.
“So for me, those memories have always been special – after the under-19 stage, I started my IPL journey and we won the IPL title in the very first year. That memory has always stayed with me,” Jadeja said.
“With those memories and with a positive mindset, I felt good there. I knew that I would learn new things with a new group and also be able to share my experience with the people there,” added Jadeja.
Jadeja enjoyed an impressive outing against CSK, returning figures of 3-0-18-2 while dismissing Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube. Rajasthan Royals went on a spell to restrict Chennai Super Kings to 127 before chasing down the target with 47 balls to spare.
