
On Tuesday, the main election officer Rathan U. Kelkar interacts with students at the IRD College in Agali in Attappady.
The main election officer (CEO) Keral Rathan U. Kelkar visited the Attrappads tribal belt on Tuesday. He launched the CEO @ UNNATHI – Prepare for the Special Intensive Revision (Sir) project in the district.
Dr. Kelkar visited the distant villages of Anavai and Chindakki and interact with the tribes. He also visited the houses of Maruti, Sundaran and Vellachi and examined their documents.
Dr. Kelkar told the tribes that there was no need for any concerns, because all their documents were real. He convinced them of the importance of submitting their votes and attending Kudumbashree meetings held in Hamlets.
He also visited the IRD College in Agali, which won second place for the best election literacy in the state and Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Arts and Science College, Kottathara, who also excelled in election literacy.
Dr. Kelkar dealt with students and clarified his doubts about the vote process. He stressed that the cast of the vote is a fundamental right and civil duty. Young voters should understand the importance of their participation, he said.
He suggested that these classes and campaigns should be further extended to the public. The aim of the Election Commission is to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the election role and that it is excluded by the ineligible individuals, he added.
Another election officer Sharmila C. Nair, a collector of Sajeed, Attappady Tahsildar Shanavas Khan, election assistant PA Toms and a sub-inspector of Pudur police station Abdul Salam accompanied him.
