
Three elephants today lost control during Jagannath Rath Yatry in Gujarat Ahmedabad, who injured one of the passers -by, reported PTI. A video about the incident appeared online, showing one of the elephants decorated with festivities and running towards the road.
“One premium was injured after the elephant was disrupted and entered the narrow lane in the Khadia area. The injured person was moved to the nearby hospital. The procession continues as planned,” Komal Vyas said.
People rushed to save themselves, and others tried to stop the elephant. It was quickly under control and taken away. According to the fire brigade, doctors and the police, there were nor on the spot.
Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad
Rath Yatra started on Friday morning in Ahmedabad and attracted thousands of devotees. Chariot Lord Jagannath, his brother Balbhadra and Subhadra sister were pulled out of the Jagannath temple from Jamalpur by the Khalasi community, centuries old tradition, PTI reported.
The Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah and his family participated in the morning prayers in the Jagannath temple and the main Minister Gujarat Bupendra Patel made “Pahind Vidhi” to mark the festivities, he added.
Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad usually includes 18 elephants, 100 trucks, “Bhajan-Mandlis” (devoted groups) and 30 Akhadas (local grammar schools), which are expected to travel 16 km during the day.
Police officials said they organized comprehensive security measures for today. Almost 23,800 security workers were deployed throughout the city to supervise the annual Yatra Rath, who is expected to attract 14-15 lakh devoted to, the report said.
First, an artificial intelligence -based monitoring system was declared to be used to avoid situations of a similar stamped. This system will inform the police and the fire brigade in the event of a fire on routes and overcrowded areas.
It was scheduled for nearly 4,500 safety workers to accompany the procession along the entire 16 km route, while 1,931 employees were assigned to operate traffic. The report added that several roads were temporarily closed for normal operation.
