Afghanistan cricket captain Rashid Khan has revealed his relationship. His clarification comes after rumors surfaced that he had remarried.
Pictures of Rashid Khan sitting next to a woman in traditional Afghan dress have gone viral on social media. This led to speculation of a second marriage.
Some social media users claim that Khan’s second wife is an Afghan model. However, the claim remains unverified.
The leg mite has now clarified that the woman in the photo is indeed his wife. He confirmed that he had remarried.
His first marriage took place in October 2024 in Kabul, on the same night as his brothers Amir Khalil, Zakiullah and Raza Khan. Rashid said his second marriage happened on August 2, 2025.
“On August 2, 2025, I began a new and meaningful chapter in my life, getting nikkah and marrying a woman who embodies the love, peace and partnership I’ve always hoped for,” Khan wrote on Instagram.

“I recently took my wife to a charity event and it’s unfortunate to see the assumptions being made from something so simple. The truth is clear, she is my wife and we stand together with nothing to hide,” he wrote.
“To everyone who has shown kindness, support and understanding, thank you,” Khan added.
While comments are apparently blocked on this Instagram post, social media users commented on his October 2024 post announcing his first marriage.
“An average Afghan, he couldn’t even wait a year and had a second marriage,” wrote one of them.
“Rashid wants 4 wives, next year two,” was the sarcastic comment.
“I’m Afghani and your big fan but you promised you won’t get married until Afghanistan win the World Cup. But now you’re married twice,” said one fan.

Another user wrote: “In Islam it is allowed to have four wives… The problem is not Rashid Khan’s second marriage, but the problem is not only that he does not adhere to the hijab. God willing, you will perform in the Islamic and Afghan culture in the future.”
“In today’s world, polygamy – marrying two women at once – should be banned. It is downright cruel and disruptive to society, even though it is allowed in Islam. Time for a change! I believe Rashid did his first wife a huge injustice. Why marry her at all?” added by Twitter user (now X).
Afghan influencer refutes rumours

“Congratulations to Afghanistan’s King of Cricket Rashid Khan on his new marriage. I wish him happiness and peace in this new chapter,” she tweeted.
“I just want to make it clear that the videos and pictures circulating online are not from me. I would really appreciate it if people would refrain from dragging my name into it,” she added.
“Let’s also be mindful not to hurt Afghan cricket in the process. What may seem like a simple post on social media can have serious consequences at home,” she warned.
