Malayalam Rapper and composer Hirandas Murali, known as Vedan, was reserved for rape for a complaint filed by a young doctor who accused him of sexual abuse for the promise of marriage.
The Thrikkakara Police in Ernacula, Kerala, registered the case after the petitioner (July 30, 2025) turned to the representatives of the police commissioner (Kochi City). The police registered this case after recording the petitioner’s statement.
“We verify the facts that will take further steps. The incidents leading to the complaint occurred a few years ago. The case was registered by the Police Thrikkakar after Thrikkakra was mentioned as one of the places where the alleged sexual abuse of marriage.”
The petitioner reportedly came up with a complaint after she came across another woman’s account who allegedly had similar experience with Vedan.
In the past, Vedan also faced charges of sexual abuse at the top of the European Championship.
28 April 2025 Police Hill Palace in Kochi arrested Vedana, along with eight other friends, allegedly with six grams of Ganja from his apartment near Kochi. While he was released on bail, he was immediately arrested by forest departments after he was found to have a pendant with a leopard. He claimed he was a gifted fan. Later he was also released on bail.
Since then, running with BJP and Sangh Parivar Outfits had filed a complaint against Vedan in Palakkad’s village and claimed that his music Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promoted the divisions of the caste.
Vedan also intervened KP Sasikala from Hinda Aikya Vedhi to take over against rap musical culture. He said that it seems that those who cared against him are the policy he defended. “Such answers show that what I do will hit the right points,” he said.
