On Tuesday, the High Court in Karnataka extended until 15 June to the aggregators of Rapido, Ola and Uber for stopping its bike services.
“When reading the circumstances and the reason that was invited … This court tends to extend the timeline until June 15 to avoid any collision and there is a reasonable opportunity for all,” the court said in the amendment of its instructions 2.
The justice of BM Shyam Prasad approved an order for a preliminary request submitted by Rapido, Ola and Uber, who was looking for an extension of the six -day term to stop his taxis by May 14.
The aggregators pointed to the court that their representation to the State Government for framing policy allowing the functioning of taxis on the bike is waiting in front of the authorities.
About the policy of framing
Roppen Transport Services Pvt. Ltd., which operates Rapido Services, stated in his request that he filed a representation before the main secretary for framing policy in the field of politicians framed by other states to allow bicycle taxis and the main secretary organized with the participating parties on April 23.
The court was emphasized that there was a general expectation that their request to reduce the policy for bicycle operations would be considered if the court extends the deadline for another six weeks.
The aggregators also told the court that considering the number of persons currently involved as bike riders would require more time to carry out alternative measures, because Rapido itself has about 6 lakh wheels registered in Karnataka, and these riders depend on these vehicles for their living.
However, the lawyer, however, opposed the extension of the deadline and pointed out that the meeting could have been convened, but the expectations of a particular decision may not be justified.
Earlier order
In its order 2. April, the Court stated that if the state government does not indicate the relevant instructions under Section 93 of the 1988 Motor Vehicle Act and rules, aggregators cannot act as aggregators offering bicycle and transport departments.
